What Depthlog is
Depthlog is a utility tool for recreational divers. It helps you log your dives, keep your certificates, map and statistics in one place, and estimate planning values such as residual nitrogen (RNT), pressure groups, no-decompression limits, equivalent air depth and oxygen exposure.
It is useful for planning and for tracking your diving over time, and it is built to be fast and clear on a boat. That is all it is.
What Depthlog is not
- It is not a substitute for a certified dive course, an instructor, or your own training.
- It is not a dive computer and it does not run a tissue model such as Bühlmann.
- It is not a medical, physiological or safety authority, and nothing in it is medical advice.
- It is not ground truth. Its values can differ from your computer, your agency tables and real conditions.
The FIPSAS recreational dive tables
Depthlog uses the recreational air dive tables published by FIPSAS as its nitrogen reference. The front and back of the tables are shown below. Tap the table to flip it, and download either side if you want to keep them with you.

How Depthlog reads the table, and the interpolation
Printed tables only publish a value for each listed depth. The school method is to round up to the next listed depth, which is conservative. Depthlog instead interpolates linearly between the two nearest listed depths, which is closer to how a dive computer behaves, and rounds the result up to the next whole minute.
Real example
The FIPSAS table gives these no-decompression limits:
- 18 m: 63 minutes
- 21 m: 48 minutes
For a dive at 20 m, Depthlog interpolates between the two:
63 + (48 - 63) * (20 - 18) / (21 - 18) = 53 minutesThe school method would round 20 m up to the 21 m column and use 48 minutes. Interpolation gives a result closer to a computer, but it is still a table approximation, not a tissue model.
Diving is dangerous
Scuba diving is a physically demanding sport with inherent risks, including decompression sickness, arterial gas embolism, barotrauma and, in the worst case, death. Those risks exist regardless of the tools you use.

Always dive with a computer
Always dive with a functioning dive computer, and always follow it. Set the conservatism or gradient factors of your computer based on your own experience, your physical condition and your training, and do not push those settings beyond what you are trained to handle.
Always dive within your certification, keep a controlled ascent, respect your no-decompression limits and follow your agency standards.
